Roseleigh is in the running for a prestigious national care award.
We have made the shortlist in The Care Team Award category of the Great British Care Awards (GBCA).
We underwent a virtual judging process at the start of December and will now attend (Covid-19 permitting) the North East regional finals in May 2021.
If successful on the night, Roseleigh will then go on to represent the region in the GBCA national finals later in 2021.
The Care Team Award recognises staff who go above and beyond to ensure residents receive person-centred care and treated with dignity and respect at all times, recognising the importance that training and experience and team morale has on this.
Rachel Lowery, Manager of Roseleigh Residential Care Home, said: “We are delighted to have made the short-list for these awards, which when you work in the care sector are considered the pinnacle when it comes to excellence.
“Roseleigh has a very strong staff team and many members of our team have worked here for over ten years, which demonstrates their commitment to the home.
“Having long-serving members of staff also provides continuity of care for residents and their families, which is important at any time but especially this year due to Covid-19.
“Our staff have worked right through the first lockdown and now into the second and despite the most difficult and challenging times, they have remained professional and never wavered from ensuring our residents receive the highest quality of care possible.”
Roseleigh, which is situated in Lytton Street, is one of only a handful of care homes to be awarded a five-start rating from Middlesbrough Borough Council. It is also rated as Good by the care home regulator, the Care Quality Commission.
The Great British Care Awards are considered the pinnacle so to win a national care award would be an amazing achievement.
