If you telephone Queen’s Lodge, the chances are the first person you will speak to will be Amanda Pilkington
That’s because as our Administrator, she is generally the first point of contact for people, whether it’s the family members of our residents, GPs, or many other of our key stakeholders.
Making and answering telephone calls is, of course, only a small part of Amanda’s job.
She also complies our occupancy reports, capacity tracker, oversees our purchasing, helps with the sales and purchase ledgers, and much more…
Amanda is well qualified given her previous experience. She used to work in sales and purchasing for a company which made herbs and spices, before going on to run pubs with her husband Craig for over 30 years, starting with her own ‘local’.
“We were always in there so we said we may as well run it,” she jokes.
As well as serving customers, she also looked after the finance and accounting side of the business, that is until she and Craig left the pub game during the pandemic.
Mum-of-three Amanda, 57, joined Queen’s Lodge in August 2021 and says she really enjoys the role.
“I love it here” she says.
“The staff and residents are lovely and the job’s got great flexibility which gives me more time to spend with my family, especially my five grandchildren.”
