Stepping up activities

Over the last few weeks, we have stepping up activities at Longlands, and it’s been great to see so many smiles on the faces of our residents and staff as we begin to get back to some kind of ‘normality’ after the last 15 months.

We are now able to admit those deliver activities into the home, provided they take and register a negative Covid-19 test upon arrival, so one of the first people we were delighted to welcome back was Mr Motivator.

Mr Motivator is now coming in each week to provide outdoor chair-based exercises for our residents and as you will see from the photographs, they have been really enjoying themselves.

Despite the disappointing end, Euro 2021 was popular and during England games we all got behind the team whilst enjoying a tipple or two.

Away from sport and fitness, the residents have also been showing their ‘crafty’ side, whether that was colouring in or making dream catchers.

And they displayed their cookery skills by making pizzas and calzones.

Our ladies have also enjoyed getting manicures and there have been lots of games played in the garden due to the lovely early summer weather including bingo and play your cards right.

Activities play an important part of life here at Longlands and we’re so happy to be able to provide such a varied programme and we have more planned so watch this space!
