As a “people person”, Helen Davis says she couldn’t have picked a better place to work than Middlesbrough Grange.
Whether our residents, their families, or our staff, Helen says she has been made to feel very welcome since joining the home in April 2023.
This is her first experience of residential care, having previously worked in homecare and 24-hour supported living.
Helen says: “It’s much more hands-on than any other job I have done before, and you are on the go all day, but I really love it.
“Everyone has been so supportive and it’s great knowing what I am doing is really making a difference to the people who live at Middlesbrough Grange.!
As a Care Assistant Helen’s role covers everything from providing personal care to our residents, through to supporting with activities, but there’s one particular thing she enjoys the most.
“I love chatting with the residents and finding out about their lives,” she explains.
“I have always been a people person, so this is perfect for me and it’s a great environment to work in too because everyone looks out for each other.”
Outside of work, Helen also works serving drinks in a local social club and with a son and two grandchildren, she says she is kept busy, which is just the way she likes it!
