St John’s House Residential Care Home was originally built in 1910 and the attractive Tudor style building has been completely refurbished to provide modern, luxurious facilities within a classic setting.
Situated in the stunning village of Kirk Hammerton, on the outskirts of York, this tranquil setting is home to 34 residents.
All the rooms are en-suite and residents can also access several lounges, dining rooms and reception rooms, as well as our amazing two acres of beautiful country grounds.
St John’s House is owned and operated by family-run Constantia Healthcare.

level of experience which is very much appreciated by our residents.
St John’s House has a highly qualified, long-serving staff team who are committed to providing unrivalled person-centred care, ensuring our residents are safe, happy and comfortable in the home at all times.
We develop a full programme of activities according to the wishes and interests of the residents. These range from exercise and craft classes through to day trips and evening and weekend outings.
Thanks to our active relationship with the village communities of Kirk Hammerton and Green Hammerton, St John’s House has access to local amenities including a general store, post office and newsagent, public house, adult education classes, the Women’s Institute and local churches.
