Constantia Healthcare is pleased to announce that it has acquired a new care home in the North East of England, taking the total in the group to five.
Constantia Healthcare has bought Middlesbrough Grange for an undisclosed sum from the Anchor Hanover Group.
The 45-bedroom, purpose-built home on the Netherfields estate of Middlesbrough provides general residential care and support for people with age-related needs, physical health and dementia.
Middlesbrough Grange is close to two existing homes owned by Constantia Healthcare in Middlesbrough, Longlands Care Home, and Roseleigh Care Home.
We also have two homes in Lancashire, Queen’s Lodge Nursing Home in Blackburn, and Crawshall Hall Nursing Home in Rossendale.
Anthony Massouras, Chairman of Constantia Healthcare, said: “We are delighted to have added Middlesbrough Grange to our small portfolio of care homes.
“It’s a home with a good reputation in the heart of the community and with our existing good relationships with Middlesbrough Borough Council and other local stakeholders, it’s a great fit for Constantia.”
We are now planning a refurbishment of the home, which was rated as good by the regulator, the Care Quality Commission in its last report, with the inspector highlighting the “person-centred care” provided to residents.
Middlesbrough Grange is set over two floors, with the upper floor dedicated to people living with dementia. It has several lounges and dining rooms, a hairdressing salon and even its own pub, named after the Netherfields Arms pub which used to be on the site of the current home.
Mr Massouras added: “We continually invest in all our homes to further enhance the resident experience and Middlesbrough Grange is no different.
“The acquisition of the home forms a key part of our growth strategy, and we are hoping to announce further acquisitions later in 2023, with the Yorkshire region having been targeted for this growth.”
