Constantia Healthcare was delighted to stage its first-ever Group awards, recognising achievements by homes, teams and individuals during 2024.
The awards were held at the Group’s Operations Conference at Darrington Golf Club in West Yorkshire in December.
The event saw members of our executive team, including Constantia’s Chief Operations Officer Emily Whitehurst and Chair/Owner Anthony Massouras, and the managers/deputies/team leaders of our nine homes coming together for a day of reflection, learning and forward planning.
It culminated in the presentation of awards to the following individuals/teams/homes:
The Above and Beyond Award – presented to Julie Heys (Team Leader – Lilibet Manor) and Stacey Ammon (Administrator – Manor Croft)
Julie’s willingness to always be there for others and her consistent efforts to help those around her make a profound impact. She embodies the true spirit of selflessness and dedication, making a difference every day through her kindness and reliability.
Stacy displays outstanding commitment, dedication and exceptional support in her role and also shares her knowledge to foster growth within the wider group. Her willingness to support others, her reliability and proactive approach make her an invaluable asset to the organisation.
The Deputy Star Award – presented to Donna McDermott (Deputy Manager – Lilibet Manor)
Donna shows exceptional commitment, unwavering dedication, and remarkable resilience. Her hard work, staying power, and determination have made an invaluable impact and she consistently goes above and beyond, setting a standard of excellence and embodying the true spirit of this award.
The Financial Achievement Award – presented to Tina Kendall (Manager – Longlands)
Tina has outstanding financial management and dedication to excellence. Through her exceptional skills in budget management and oversight, she not only met but surpassed her annual target for Longlands and her commitment and diligence have made a significant contribution to the success and stability of the home.
The Fortitude Award – presented to the entire team at Queen’s Lodge
For their remarkable resilience and patience throughout 2023 and 2024 during the extension build to the existing care home. Despite the challenges, the team remained steadfast, delivering first-class care and maintaining their commitment to excellence. Their dedication and teamwork ensured that residents continued to receive the highest level of care and support. They are truly invaluable members of the organisation, demonstrating professionalism and unwavering spirit.
The Inspiring Mentor Award – presented to Jessica Reilly, Jemma Bolton and Hari Pillai (Therapy Team at Lilibet Manor)
For their unwavering commitment, deep knowledge, and exceptional support. Through their dedication and mentorship, they empower and inspire their colleagues to deliver fantastic care. Their helpfulness and guidance create a nurturing environment where teams grow, thrive, and achieve excellence.
The Outstanding Leadership Award – presented to Leah Houghton (Manager – Lilibet Manor)
Leah has shown exceptional leadership in uniting her team, coaching, developing, and shaping a clear and inspiring vision. Her dedication to growth and excellence, combined with the consistent and outstanding feedback she receives, highlights her commitment to fostering success.
The Regional Excellence Award – presented to Gaynor Lund (Regional Manager – North West)
Through her exemplary leadership, dedication, unwavering support and exceptional resilience. Gaynor has inspired and empowered her team to achieve excellence. Her commitment and passion set a standard of professionalism that embodies the true spirit of this award.
The Rising Star Award – presented to Caron Flynn (Manager – Manor Croft), Amanda Richardson (Manager – Middlesbrough Grange), Hannah Leather (Deputy Manager – Middlesbrough Grange) & Amy Burgess (Finance Support)

Her determination and positive attitude inspire those around her and set a strong example for the team.
Through her direct and supportive approach, Amy consistently provides invaluable assistance to the operations team. Her keen understanding, commitment, and proactive mindset demonstrate her potential to become the future face of finance.
The Team of the Year Award – presented to the team at Roseleigh
For their unwavering commitment to delivering first-class care and ensuring that people truly matter. Their dedication shines through in every interaction, creating a compassionate and supportive environment. And to the Wellbeing Team, whose relentless efforts and willingness to go above and beyond make a profound difference every day.
The Where People Matter Award – presented to Kim Jackson (PA to Group Chief Operating Officer and Learning & Development Manager)
In recognition of Kim’s continuous support, unwavering dedication, and the pride she takes in her role. A true advocate for professionalism and compassionate care.
Emily Whitehurst said: “Our first-ever Group awards were based on nominations made by colleagues and it was pleasing to recognise the achievements of so many individuals and teams who went the extra mile to support our residents, families and staff in 2024.
“It’s always difficult narrowing down winners because everyone within the Group does such an amazing job and we are truly thankful for the incredible staff team we have at Constantia Healthcare.
“The awards will now become an annual event, in addition to new employee of the month and employee of the year awards we are also introducing in 2025, meaning we can recognise even more people this year.”
