Our Residents – Muriel Coombes

Carole Norris, whose mum Muriel Coombes, is a resident at Roseleigh, said: “Mum has Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia and was becoming agitated and could no longer cope in her own home so she went into Roseleigh for a respite stay and assessment.

“When she came out, she said she wanted to go back, so that was a good sign that she liked Roseleigh and that it may be perfect for her.

“She is cared for as an individual and all her preferences are taken into account whether it’s what she does or doesn’t like to eat, or what she likes to do.

“The staff are very good at recognising when there are problems, so a good example is when they came to me with concerns that her health was deteriorating and when the doctors carried out tests they discovered it was being caused by the medication she was on.

“The staff are brilliant, and I know she is being well looked after physically and mentally. She is in a safe, nurturing environment and all her needs are catered for.

“In our case, Roseleigh chose us and we are very lucky they did, and I have no hesitation in recommending the home to anyone.”
