Queen’s Lodge is now fully open for visits, with families being able to choose how they would like meet their loved ones.
We have adapted our television room into a new meeting area where two designated family member can speak to and hold hands with their relatives. Visits can also take place outside depending on the weather.
This entails having to take a self-administered (our staff are on hand to support) Covid-19 rapid lateral flow test when you arrive at the home and waiting 30 minutes for the result. If it is negative, wearing a mask, plastic gloves, and apron, you will then be taken into the room to meet your loved one, where you will be able to hold their hand as well as speak to them.
No close physical contact, such as hugging, is allowed at this stage but with all our residents having received their two vaccinations and with the general public now also being vaccinated, we hope this will be able to happen soon.
In order that more than one person can see their loved ones in Queen’s Lodge, we are also still using our visitors pod, so we are open for visits here too. Tests are not required for this visit as a screen separates residents from their visitors, with people being able to speak to each other via a microphone.
Residents are now also able to leave the home with their nominated family members to go for a walk, or sit in the gardens of their family member’s home. The family member still needs to take a lateral flow test and fill out a risk assessment form.
As Covid-19 restrictions are lifted further in the coming months, we expect to have even more flexibility when it comes to visiting, and will update people via this website or they can call us anytime for an update on 01254 681805.
