Prestigious award

Two members of the Constantia Healthcare team have been shortlisted for a prestigious award which recognises individuals and teams that have made a difference in the lives of people with challenging behaviours.

Jessica Reilly and Jemma Bolton are being considered jointly in the Instructor of the Year category in the 2024 PROACT-SCIPr-UK awards.

The pair will discover if they have been successful at an awards ceremony being held in Basingstoke on 16th October. The ceremony will form part of the two-day Loddon School Training Conference.

The PROACT-SCIPr-UK (Positive Range of Options to Avoid Crisis and use Therapy) approach is a person-centred model of education and care for children and adults with challenging behaviours developed by Loddon School over 30 years.

Jessica and Jemma are both PROACT-SCIPr-UK accredited instructors and are part of the Therapy Team at Constantia Healthcare’s Lilibet Manor complex care and nursing residential service in Rossendale, Lancashire.

Jessica, an Occupational Therapist, and Jemma, a Positive Behaviouralist, also provide support at eight other residential/nursing homes in the Constantia group.

Emily Whitehurst, Constantia Healthcare Chief Operating Officer, said: “Jessica and Jemma have shown extraordinary dedication, skill, and passion in their roles as PROACT-SCIPr-UK® Instructors.

“They have played a crucial part in the successful implementation of the PROACT-SCIPr-UK® approach within our organisation and their commitment to providing positive, individualised support has truly made a difference.

“They have a unique ability to connect with staff, making complex concepts accessible and relatable and their tailored approach ensures that each training session meets the specific needs of our team and the individuals we support.

“Thanks to their guidance, our staff feel more confident and equipped to provide high-quality care to people who have the most complex of care and support needs. This has fostered a more inclusive and supportive environment within our organisation, enhancing the wellbeing and progress of the individuals entrusted to us in our care.”

Jessica and Jemma will both also be speaking at the Loddon School conference, on the theme of ‘Let’s begin with the PROACT-SCIPr-UK® approach – the impact of listening to
our stakeholders.’
