At Manor Croft, we’re preparing to say a fond farewell to our much-loved Home Comforts Partner, Janet Simmonds, who retires on 24 September after nearly 28 years of dedicated service.
Janet has been an important part of everyday life at our home. She takes great pride in making sure residents’ clothing is cared for to a high standard, bringing thoughtfulness and attention to detail to everything she does.
But her contribution reaches far beyond clothing care. From completing orders and keeping essential supplies stocked to lending a hand with the day-to-day running of the home, Janet has always been someone her colleagues can count on. Her kindness and willingness to help have made a lasting impression on everyone around her.

Described by colleagues as “an all-round good egg”, Janet reflects the care and community spirit that make Manor Croft special. After almost three decades, she will be greatly missed by residents, families and the whole staff team.
To celebrate everything she has contributed, we’re planning a farewell party for staff, residents and their families. It will be a lovely opportunity to come together, share memories and wish Janet well as she begins her retirement.
