Eyes were opened

Rebecca Bullock had never thought about a career in care until her eyes were opened to further herself whilst working as a cleaner in a residential home in her younger years.

“Cleaning was a position I did around bringing my children up and upon completing this position, I recognised the great work the carers in the home did and how rewarding it was,” explains Rebecca.

This led Rebecca to look into the possibility of a career in care, and she hasn’t looked back since.

Rebecca and Jenny, the service manager at Lilibet Manor, have worked together for some years and Jenny has watched Rebecca grow in her career. This resulted in Rebecca now working as our Deputy Manager in Lilibet Manor.

Rebecca shares Deputy Manager responsibilities with Donna McDermott, with Rebecca overseeing the part of the setting where our residents living with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Rebecca stated  “Jenny and I share the same ethos which is about ensuring we deliver excellent person-centre care,” she says.

“It’s a much bigger home than where I worked previously but I have quickly got to know the residents and staff and we are all committed to achieving the very best outcomes for everyone at Lilibet Manor.”
