Constantia Healthcare was delighted to be part of a £100,000 fundraising effort in aid of a national charity which supports children and families from seafaring backgrounds.
We were one of the Associate Sponsors of a recent sportsman’s lunch in Hull for the Sailors Children Society.
The lunch, in which former Wales and British Lions Rugby Captain Sam Warburton was the guest speaker, raised an amazing £103,198 for the charity.
Established over 200 years ago, the Sailors Children Society provides support to children whose parent has made a living at sea or from the inland canals or rivers. This includes mariners from fishing fleets, Royal Navy, and Merchant Navy families, as well as those who worked on ferries, cruise ships, cargo ships and offshore industries.
The sponsorship of the event forms part of Constantia’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, which involves supporting organisations/charities in areas where we have offices and homes.
Local grassroots rugby and football clubs are among those we have provided financial support to in recent years.
Nick King, Constantia Healthcare’s Finance Director, said: “The Sailors Children Society is a fantastic charity which does amazing work supporting people across the country who have a connection to the sea or water.
“We were therefore proud to be part of the sportsman’s lunch as an Associate Sponsor and delighted with the significant amount raised on the day.”
