It’s important to have a good work/life balance and that’s what working at Queen’s Lodge gives Olivia Linnane.
Our Home Administrator is generally the first person you will speak to when you contact the home, whether it’s checking in on a loved one, enquiring about care or calling as a health professional.
Olivia has seen it from both sides because she has worked in a residential home and in homecare as a carer too.
And before this she worked in admin for a roofing company for 12 years.
“I was in homecare before I came to Queen’s Lodge, but they were long days and you are not given enough time to spend with people, plus with two young boys I was looking for something more family friendly,” explains Olivia.
“So, when I saw this job advertised, I applied, and I really enjoy it here.”
Olivia joined Queen’s Lodge in March 2023 and spends her day performing a variety of tasks.
“I speak to a lot of family members either on the phone or chatting with them when they come in,” she says.
“And occasionally I will do some care as well, which I enjoy because I have always loved the caring side.
“Working here has given me a great work/life balance. I live fairly close to the home and can be back to do the school run and to take my children to their various clubs after school, so it’s ideal for me.”
When she’s not at work, Olivia enjoys spending time with her family.
“I am very family-oriented and what’s important to me right now is making the very most of this time,” she adds.
