Improving the experience

At Constantia Healthcare, we are constantly looking at ways of improving the experience for people who live in our care homes.

We do this in numerous ways, including exploring the latest technological advancements in care, ensuring the care we provide is fully inclusive and sharing in best practice.

A good example happened recently when Jessica Reilly, an Occupational Therapy Assistant who works at our Lilibet Manor care home, attended the national Occupational Therapy (OT) Show at the NEC in Birmingham.

The OT Show is the UK’s leading event for the Occupational Therapy community and is the driving force for Occupational Therapists to find updated information, new resources, and support from peers, all in one place.

During the show, Jessica, who represented Constantia Healthcare, was able to attend various lectures included in the CPD accredited conference programme including:

– A reflection on the role of occupational therapy within Learning Disability and Autism Services

– Games and gaming for upper limb rehabilitation

– Through Pride Comes Progress – The Path Towards Inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ Community Within Occupational Therapy

Jessica was also able to take part in a dementia experience and access the exhibition hall full of suppliers showcasing the latest products and services

This enabled her to gain expert advice and ensure the people we support have the right options to assist them with enhancing their quality of life.
