The best things come in threes

They say the best things come in threes and we have the perfect example at Longlands – namely Jackie Bainbridge, Vera Fairless and Irene Howlett.

They are our own version of The Three Musketeers!

Jackie is the youngest of the trio, at 66, followed by Irene at 75 and Vera who is the oldest at 91.

But despite an age gap spanning 25 years, the three have become the very best of friends and are very rarely not seen together in the home.

One of the main reasons for this is their love of activities. Whether it’s cookery, quizzes, crosswords or drawing, they like to be involved in as much as possible and have therefore naturally gravitated towards each other.

Oh, and they also just love having a natter!

Jackie explains: “We obviously didn’t know each other when we came to Longlands, but we have become firm friends and enjoying spending time in each other’s company.”

Vera says: “I was living in a large home which had become difficult for me to maintain as I have arthritis, so I came to Longlands and meeting Jackie and Vera made it easier to settle in.”

Irene adds: “Longlands is a nice place with lovely staff and it’s great spending time doing activities with Jackie and Vera.”

See, the best things definitely come in threes!
