Lilibet Manor is a specialist care facility set across two adjoining buildings in Rossendale, Lancashire, offering tailored support for individuals with varying physical, mental health, and complex needs, with a particular focus on long-term complex care. Set within two acres of landscape grounds, the original building, a former mansion built in 1830 by Lord Crawshaw, provides a warm and supportive environment for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other complex needs requiring specialist care. Many of the en-suite rooms retain original period features, and residents are encouraged to personalise their space with their own furnishings. This part of the home also includes a spacious lounge, a dining area, a cinema room, and Occupational Therapy spaces, all of which contribute to creating a comfortable and engaging atmosphere for long-term residents.
The adjoining modern extension accommodates individuals with medical conditions, physical disabilities, and complex behavioural needs, many of whom require long-term, ongoing support. All rooms in this building are en-suite, and residents have access to lounges, sensory spaces, and a communal dining area where fresh, home-cooked meals are served daily.
A number of the individuals we support have experienced failed placements in mainstream care due to their complex needs. Our specialist Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model ensures that each individual receives care tailored to their unique circumstances, reducing the need for restrictive interventions and ensuring their long-term care is as supportive as possible. By identifying triggers and creating a nurturing environment, we empower people to lead more independent and fulfilling lives, even within the context of
ong-term complex care.

Leah Houghton is the Registered Manager at Lilibet Manor. She is a trained Mental Health Nurse with over 20 years’ experience in care.

From personalised digital engagement and sensory activities to memorable outings and community-based experiences, we offer enriching opportunities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and personal fulfilment.
We also provide holistic care via a dedicated Therapy Team which specialises in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and positive behaviour support, working closely with people to promote independence, enhance well-being, and reduce behaviours of concern. Through a combination of therapeutic activities, structured support plans, and personalised interventions, our Therapy Team plays a crucial role in improving the long-term quality of life for residents with complex needs.
Lilibet Manor is situated in the village of Crawshawbooth in Rossendale. Local amenities are within walking distance and within two miles is Rawtenstall town centre and the M66. We are on a bus route which offers frequent bus services to Crashawbooth, Rawtenstall, Burnley, Bury, Blackburn, Bolton and Manchester.
