Accommodation & Facilities

Queen’s Lodge Nursing Home in Blackburn is split over two floors, with 56 bedrooms , all of which are ensuite. This includes a 24-bedroom extension which opened in August 2024. We encourage residents to bring their own furnishings to make their room feel as homely as possible.

Inside the home, there are three comfortable lounges, orangery, library, a large open plan dining room serving fresh home-cooked food, hairdressing salon and beautiful gardens with well maintained lawns, flower beds, trees, seating and our own a duck pond. We have a private meeting room for residents and their families and have ample parking for visitors.

We also offer a personal laundry service for all residents and as well as a hairdresser who attends weekly, we also have regular visits from an optician, dentist and chiropodist.

Our unique, inclusive care packages, for private fee payers, offer everything from personal grooming and family dining events to therapeutic and holistic treatments. We also have a Resident Loan Fund which enables residents to keep a small personal float in the home so they can make small purchases without the worry of carrying cash.

Our Familiar Spaces project helps people living with dementia by replicating the layout and décor of their bedroom from home so their new space feels instantly familiar. We even take a photograph of the view from their old bedroom window and create a custom wall canvas so they can wake up to the same view they’ve known for years.

We also understand how important it is to feel connected to family and friends and that’s why we have a family WhatsApp group and a monthly newsletter tailored specifically to each resident.

What our residents and families say about Queens Lodge...

We have been delighted with Queens Lodge Nursing Home since my mum arrived. A very welcoming home, the staff are so polite and respectful to the residents.

Jennifer, daughter of resident

She loves living at the care home. All her needs are taken care of and the staff are brilliant. She’s not alone and now has plenty of friends. She’s being looked after in the utmost of care. I have nothing negative about this care home.

Josie, cousin of resident

You really don’t know as a family, how much you have given back to our wonderful mum. Thank you so much, you really are the best.

Julie, daughter of resident

An absolutely fantastic care home. The staff cannot be faulted and do fantastic job with no fuss, panic or anything. There is always someone you can talk to and they listen. If any action is needed it is done. The facilities are fantastic, as are the rooms, everything easily accessed.

Kenneth, husband of resident

I have placed 3 relatives in this care home over the last 8 years. All have been cared for well, the staff are very helpful and friendly and turnover is quite low which is a good thing. The recent redevelopment has only enhanced things which now means a more up to date environment and furnishings. I would recommend this home to anyone looking to place a relative.

Lesley, relative of residents

My mum is very happy at Queens Lodge so this makes us happy and puts our minds at rest.
