We will discover on Wednesday (24th) whether Longlands Care Home has achieved a prestigious awards double.
The home has been short-listed in the North East Regional Finals of the Great British Care Awards.
We are competing in two categories – The Care Team Award and The Care Home Registered Manager Award.
The Care Team Award recognises staff who go above and beyond to ensure residents receive person-centred care and treated with dignity and respect at all times, recognising the importance that training and experience and team morale has on this.
And the Care Home Registered Manager Award recognises the Manager who shows vision in developing person centred care and supporting staff to meet the ever changing needs of the residents. We certainly thinks this applies to Longlands Manager Tina Kendall.
If we are successful in either (but hopefully both!) categories when the winners are announced at a ceremony in The Grand Hotel, Gosforth, we will then go onto the national finals on 18th March 2022.
The GB Care Awards celebrate and recognise excellence in social care, so it’s an achievement just to be short-listed, but we believe Tina and her team deserve to win so we will be keeping everything crossed on the evening!
