A charity dog show will be just one of the many ‘pawsome’ highlights of a family fun day being staged at The Millings.
The home is inviting people to enter their dogs in the show on Saturday 5th July,
The show is being run by Saving Yorkshire’s Dogs (SYD), a volunteer rescue and rehoming charity which dogs that are vulnerable and at risk in the Yorkshire area.
Having a dog is not a pre-requisite to attend The Millings though as the CQC rated outstanding home has put together a fun-packed afternoon of activities for families.
This includes live music from Northallerton Community Woodwind Band, an animal petting area, various stalls, children’s fairground ride, shooting gallery and tombola. There will be fish and chips, ice cream and refreshments being served.
Amanda Coates, Activities and Wellbeing Coordinator at The Millings, said: “We’re looking forward to opening our grounds to local people for what promises to be a lovely afternoon.
“As a home in the centre of Bedale, we’ve always felt part of this lovely community so it’s nice to be able to put something on for families and other visitors.
“We are also keen to show off our beautiful home and we will be offering tours of The Millings to anyone interested in having a look around.
“It will also be nice for our residents to be able to mix with their friends and family members in a fun way too.”
Entry to the dog show is £2 and all the money will raised will go towards the work of SYD. There is no pre-entry requirement as people can just turn up with their dogs on the day. The show starts at 1.30pm.
