We are pleased to announce that the vast majority of residents in our two care homes have received their first Covid-19 vaccinations.
At the time of writing (26th January) Longlands, 87.5% of residents have received the first of two doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine and at Roseleigh the figure currently stands at 91.5%.
Staff are also being vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine, so our hope is that by February, everyone who lives and works at the two homes will have received their first jabs, with the second to follow soon after.
Whilst we will still need to follow Government guidance around Covid-19, it provides our residents with some more freedom and more importantly peace of mind.
It also hopefully means that at some point, especially when the wider population receive their Covid-19 vaccinations and infection and death rates begin to decrease, we will once again be able to welcome families back into the homes properly again, so they are can hug and kiss their loved ones like they used to do.
In the meantime, we still have our Covid-19 secure visitor pods at both Longlands and Roseleigh which enable people to see and speak with their loved ones.
