Date with destiny

Had a previous job interview ran over, Beth Renicor nearly didn’t meet her date with destiny at Roseleigh.

But thankfully for her (and us), she made it just in time and now, as a Care Assistant, she is already making a very positive impact and was recently rewarded for her hard work by winning one of our carer of the year awards.

Beth started working in care when she was 17, initially as an Activities Assistant for a home in Yarm.

Wanting to work closer to home, she then became a Support Worker at a service for people with mental health problems, before deciding her heart definitely belonged in elderly residential care.

Which brings us to her job interview story!

Beth explains: “I had a job interview at another home and I knew I would then only have 30 minutes until my one at Roseleigh and thankfully it didn’t overrun and I made it on time.

“I am so glad I did because the moment I walked through the door, I knew this was the place for me.

“As I was given the tour, I could see what a lovely, homely environment it was and everybody was so nice.”

Beth works on permanent nights, 8pm to 8pm and likes the flexibility this provides her to do other things during the day.

“You see a totally different to the home at night and I really enjoy it,” she says.

“It was so nice when I found I had won the employee of the month award and touched that staff had taken the time to vote for me.

“That perfectly sums up Roseleigh!”

Outside of work, Beth enjoys travelling and in particular visiting new places.
