Digital technology

Constantia Healthcare has made a significant investment in digital technology which will further improve the planning of care for residents, support the personal development of staff team and drastically reduce the amount of paperwork we produce.

We have introduced four separate e-based platforms which are now being used across the four homes we currently operate in North-West and North-East of England.

They are Nourish Care, Coolcare4, QCS and Your Hippo and combined they represent a six-figure investment.

Nourish Care is an electronic care plan provider which will enable Constantia Healthcare to transform in-home processes regarding the planning of care for our residents.

With 350 separate applications covering everything from digitally recording residents’ care plans through to instant messaging, the system will provide real-time reporting so staff can react quickly to any changes in the care or wellbeing requirements of residents – and without the need for a paper trail.

Coolcare4 is a HR-based system which includes details of all staff who work at the four homes, electronic rotas, staff messaging, training and appraisal records.

Alongside Coolcare4, Your Hippo provides range of e-learning courses which staff can access, covering everything from diabetes awareness and equality and diversity through to medication and mental health awareness, with each course being CPD accredited.

QCS (Quality Compliance Systems) is a system which will ensure Constantia Healthcare continues to comply with all regulatory requirements without the need for physical paperwork, including up-to-the-minute guidance on current legislation and other important policies and procedures.

Emily Whitehurst, Chief Operating Officer at Constantia Healthcare, said: “We have grown quickly in recent years, moving from our original two care homes in Middlesbrough to two further homes in Blackburn and Rossendale in the space of just two years.

“And with further acquisitions planned, the time was right to look at streamlining our processes and introducing state-of-the-art digital care planning and management, compliance, and e-learning for the benefit of our residents, their families, and members of staff.

“It’s a significant investment but it will make us more efficient as a Group, with the further added bonus of reducing our carbon footprint and making our care homes more environmentally friendly.”
