Fire Safety

At Constantia Healthcare we recognise that fire safety is of paramount importance and that we all have a role to play in minimising the risk of fire in our homes.

As part of our commitment to keeping our residents and staff safe, a member of the Constantia team, Kim Jackson underwent training which resulted in her achieving a Level 3 Award in Fire Safety and a Level 3 Award in First Aid.

Kim is now using what she has learned to raise awareness of fire safety within our homes by delivering training for staff.

As a result, staff at our Queen’s Lodge and Lilibet Manor homes have now all received Level 1 Fire Safety and Level 2 Fire Marshal training.

The fire safety training covered the following areas:

* The common causes of fire

* Actions to take in the event of a fire

* Understand how fire risk is controlled in the workplace

The fire marshal training covered the following areas:

* Introduction to fire safety

* The characteristics of fire

* Fire safety legislation

* Assessing and managing risk

Following the success of the training at Queen’s Lodge and Lilibet Manor, Kim will now be delivering it to staff at our homes in Middlesbrough – Roseleigh, Longlands, and Middlesbrough Grange.
