A football club which is this year celebrating its 130th year has received a boost in the form of sponsorship from Constantia Healthcare
We have paid £1,000 to sponsor Tadcaster Albion AFC during the current season.
The team, who play in the “Pitching In” Northern Premier League, Division 1, have their own stadium in the centre of Tadcaster, but have struggled financially in recent years due to various issues, including regular flooding at their ground which sits close to the River Wharfe.
The club is aiming to build a new clubhouse which will be constructed above any future flood water, with this bringing in an estimated extra £40,000 in profit from non-football activities.
So, as part of this, Tadcaster have stepped up their fundraising activities and Constantia Healthcare is one of the organisations which has pledged support.
Anthony Massouras, Owner of Constantia Healthcare, said: “As an organisation with its head office in Yorkshire, we are pleased to be able to support such an historic local club like Tadcaster which is such an important part if the community.
“Grassroots sports are vital, especially given the circumstances of the last few years, so we wish the club the very best in its efforts on, and off, the field.”
Andy Charlesworth, Director and Chairman of Tadcaster Albion AFC, said: “Like most clubs at our level, every penny we are able to bring into the club matters, but it is getting more challenging, especially during the current climate.
“The club is working hard to improve the situation by looking at additional income streams, such as sponsorship, so the support we have received this season from Constantia Healthcare is gratefully received.
“We are an old club with lots of history and have taken the decision to remain at our spiritual home and redevelop the ground and facilities which, with the new clubhouse, we hope will stand us in much better stead in the future.
“The clubhouse will be flood resilient and allow us to generate additional income which will make us more financially stable & self-supporting.”
