Sam Mendum knew what a great place Roseleigh is to work in as her mum used to be one of the home’s cooks – and the fact she has spent the last 18 years here demonstrates she did the right thing in listening to her mum!
Sam joined on an Apprenticeship straight after leaving school in 2005 and is now one of our Senior Carers, which means she has added responsibilities which include dispensing medication to residents and liaising with doctors, nurses, and social workers.
The 33-year-old has also performed every job in the home during her time so is well placed to discuss its merits.
Sam says: “As well as caring for the residents I have worked in the kitchen, laundry, and cleaning, so it has given me a great insight into all aspects of the running of the home.
“We have a dedicated, caring team at Roseleigh and the residents are like a second family to us, so it is a lovely environment in which to work.
“I would recommend caring, and Roseleigh in particular, to anyone.”
Outside of work, married mum-of-two boys Sam enjoys spending quality time with her family – the first one that is!
