Master of Plumbing

Adam Johnston describes himself as the ‘Jack of all Trades, Master of Plumbing’

It’s an apt description given his career history which recently resulted in him joining the maintenance team at The Millings.

Adam’s plumbing experience (22 years as a Plumbing and Heating Engineer) speaks for itself, but during his working and personal life he has picked up many more skills which we are really benefiting from at The Millings.

That’s because he has also supervised a team which covered pretty much everything related to the building of properties.

And one of his hobbies is tinkering with motorcycles and cars, so it’s fair to say he is a little ‘handy’.

“After 22 years working as a plumber and heating engineer, I was looking for a career change and something which didn’t involve me being on call 24/7,” says Adam.

“I like working at The Millings. It’s a nice working environment with nice people and I know when I start and finish, so it gives me a good work/life balance.”

A typical day for Adam at The Millings can involve everything from repairing residents’ properties through to cutting grass. And, of course, fixing any plumbing issues!

He adds: “First impressions matter so it’s important the home looks good inside and out.
“I have always been very hands on and like to do as much as possible. I know a little about electrics through my plumbing and I am considering taking my electrical competency so I can do even more.”

When’s he not fixing up bikes and cars, in his spare time, Adam also enjoy spending time with his rescue dog, which he got just before he started work at The Millings.
