A new garden room forms the centrepiece of a £150,000 investment aimed at further improving the experience for residents and their families at Roseleigh.
We recently completed work on an extension, creating a large garden room at the back of the home.
The room provides a quiet space for residents to relax or do activities whilst looking out onto the garden.
It is also currently being used to enable indoors visits to take place at Roseleigh based on Government guidelines around Covid-19.
As well as the garden room, the home has also invested in the refurbishment of its bedrooms and bathrooms and outside areas.
Rachel Lowery, Manager of Roseleigh Care Home, said: “We’re constantly looking at ways of improving Roseleigh, so we’re delighted to have completed work on the new extension.
“It provides a lovely space for residents to have some quiet time, undertake activities or chat with their friends, all whilst looking out onto the garden.
“We will be able to open the doors and windows when it was warm so the room connects with the garden and in the winter, with the central heating, it will provide a nice cosy area for the residents.”
Roseleigh, which opened in 2000, is one of only a handful of homes to be rated five-star by Middlesbrough Borough Council. The 50-bedroom home includes a wing for people who require specialist care, including dementia/Alzheimer’s and physical disabilities.
Rachel added: “We strive continuously to improve the experience for residents living at Roseleigh, as well as their families who come to visit.
“Even throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, we have continued to invest in improvements and with the Government’s recovery roadmap enabling us to permit indoor visiting again, we are delighted to be welcoming families back to Roseleigh so they can see for themselves the work we have done.”
