Our residents – Len

Len McGough has always been a keen snooker and billiards player so one of the first things he did when he moved into Roseleigh was to offer to buy a pool table for the home.

We took him up on his very kind offer and the pool table is set to form part of a new games room for the residents at Roseleigh.

Len, 89, moved into Roseleigh in February, initially on respite. This followed the sad death of his wife Sheila in 2021.

Len had come to lean on his wife of 47 years for many things, so he realised he needed some extra support and after enjoying his time on respite at Roseleigh, he now lives her permanently, and says he couldn’t be happier.

He says: “I was living on my own and my daughter-in-law suggested residential care and I really like it here at Roseleigh.

“You are well looked after, get a great choice of food and you only need to ask and they get things for you.”

On buying the pool table, a modest Len says: “I like taking part in activities so I thought the pool table would be a good addition and I will be able to play billiards on it as well.

“I can’t take my money with me and my family don’t want it, so I am glad to have been able to put some of it to good use.”
