Returning to care at Roseleigh was made easier for Leighan Farrow by the fact she had previously worked round the corner at Longlands, our sister home.
She spent four years working as a Senior Carer at Longlands before taking time out to do something different, in her case providing one-to-one support for someone with mental health issues.
We were therefore delighted when Leighan’s decided to come back into residential care and chose to work as a Senior at Roseleigh.
In this role, as well as providing care to residents, she is also responsible for overseeing the administration of medication, as well as liaising with GPs and social workers.
Leighan, 46, says: “Longlands and Roseleigh are run in a similar way, so I knew what to expect when I joined, and I am really enjoying it her.
“Everyone is very friendly and there is a nice laidback atmosphere in the home which makes it a nice environment to work in.
“Each day is different and because everyone knows their jobs it feels like the home runs itself.”
Outside work, Leighan enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
