Still here

Vicky Williamson originally came to Roseleigh on work experience and enjoyed it so much that she is still here eight years later.

As one of our carers she is responsible for ensuring are residents are as comfortable and happy as they can be, and the latter, in particular, comes easy to Vicky.

She explains: “I would describe myself as happy go lucky with a positive outlook on life and this is important when it comes to the residents because if they ae lonely or feeling down, then this can affect their general wellbeing.

“We are often the only people they see each day, especially if they don’t have family, so it’s our job to be like a member of their family.”

Vicky’s varied day as a carer includes everything from helping residents with their personal care needs through to taking part in activities with them.

She adds: “It is a very rewarding job, and I would recommend it to anyone, especially working here at Roseleigh.

“There’s great morale within the team and part of that stems from the experiences we shard whilst working through the pandemic.

“It was scary and a total unknown to us, but we came out of it even stronger as a team.”

Outside of work, much of 28-year-old Vicky’s time is spent with her fiancé and their one-year-old son; and they have another baby on the way in July.

With everything she has experience over the last few years, this will definitely be like child’s play for her!
