Keaton Craggs may have initially been thinking about a career treading the boards, but he is still putting what he learned to good use, both in and out of work.
The 21-year-old was studying musical theatre at university but found it was not what he was expecting so returned home looking for work.
He got a glimpse of life at Roseleigh when he came to perform at our pride festival in the summer as his drag queen persona, Keelea Sin Love, even persuading his mum Cheryl to join him in putting on a show for our residents.
Keaton performs in drag as a DJ in Middlesbrough each week, so his bubbly personality is exactly what we needed when we were looking for a new Activity Coordinator at Roseleigh.
He did not hesitate to accept the role and just a few months later says he has “found my calling.”
Working in tandem with fellow Activity Coordinator Andrea, Keaton has hit the ground running and is already putting his own personal stamp on the job.
Keaton said: “I have been getting to know all the residents by doing one-to-ones with them and this helps me get an idea of the sorts of things they like so we can look to do activities around these interests.
“One night we played different types of music for them and had some nice snacks and I have never seen so many come down to take part so that was fantastic.
“I am really enjoying working here and definitely feel like I have found my calling.”
